The Coraki Art Prize began in 1997 as part of the Coraki Tea Tree Festival and has since continued to be run annually as an event on its own, Except for 2 years during COVID and 2023 after the devastating floods, when we lost all of our equipment, hanging devices, stands, signage, lighting etc. It has grown over the years and is recognised and respected widely throughout Northern NSW.
The Coraki Art Prize offers various art awards to recognize excellence in the arts. Our art awards are an opportunity for artists to gain recognition, showcase their work, and be part of a vibrant arts community.
It attracts entries from some of the regions best artists and welcomes emerging artists to share their work and get involved. Artists gain recognition and showcase their work through our awards, prize monies, exhibitions and sale of works.
We are a non for profit, volunteer run art prize. We work to be financially viable through successful fundraisers, networking and nurturing relationships with our community, business, schools and sponsors.
Our judges are well respected and held in high regard within the Art community. Each section is judged separately and judges are chosen for their expertise in each specific medium/practice. Best In Show ($2000 prize) is judged by all the judges together and collectively they choose the winner. Popular Choice ($500 prize) is won by the artist who gets the most votes made by the public who come to view the exhibition.

Coraki Art Prize is dedicated to delivering an inclusive and inspiring art show annually in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. The area has endured multiple severe weather events in recent years and we believe in the power of art to inspire, uplift and foster community.
Our purpose is to celebrate and promote the arts and offer an opportunity to exhibit for all artists, professional and emerging with a strong emphasis on inclusion of our youth.
To be inclusive we offer entries and prizes for many different mediums including, painting, works on paper (drawing and printmaking), sculpture, photography, youth photography, youth art (12 years and under) and youth
art (13 to 18 years).
Our intent is to bring our community together through the arts by offering a wonderful exhibition and show for all to enjoy and share in each year.
